This area is integrated by the entire coastline of the municipality of Lorca and the stretch between this and the municipality of Mazarrón.
The municipality of Lorca, second largest in Spain, opens to the Mediterranean Sea through a 11-kilometer stretch of unspoiled coast comprising 14 white sand and pebble beaches and coves, all in excellent conditions.
This area includes part of the Regional Wildlife Park of Cabo Cope y Puntas de Calnegre and, within this, the protected natural park of Lomo de Bas, on the north side of the Park.
The municipality of Mazarrón is quite open to the Mediterranean Sea, which also touches the coast of the municipality of Lorca in its Western end.
This area has 8 beaches, where Covaticas (1,000 meters in length), one of extraordinary beauty, and Percheles (290 meters in length), gorgeous fine sand, palm trees and turquoise waters, stand out. All these beaches are far from major urban centers.
